Essential focuses on the artist who, in dialogue with himself, searches for the expressiveness of art. Inspired by the popular manifesto Art as Therapy by the philosophers Alain de Botton and John Armstrong, this strength lies not so much in defining an unambiguous meaning, but rather in the artistic creation process as a means of access to inner space. Essential is thus an invitation to the viewer to enter into a similar process when viewing.
