Twist Tower
Twist Tower introduces a new residential landmark to Het Eilandje in Antwerp, a former harbor district that has evolved over recent decades into a vibrant urban neighborhood where housing, culture, and public space converge. Located along the Kempisch Dock, the tower contributes to this ongoing transformation by adding new residential quality and strengthening the relationship among the city, the waterfront, and the public realm.
Rising 78 meters with 23 stories and 92 apartments, the tower marks the waterfront site without appearing as an isolated object. The architecture engages with the scale and dynamics of its surroundings, featuring a robust plinth that anchors the building within the urban fabric while creating openness toward the public domain. Large glazed openings and generous terraces establish strong visual connections with the city and the docks, while the careful use of natural stone and bronze-toned detailing gives the building a refined appearance.
Within the overall unity of the volume, subtle variations in the façades introduce individuality and legibility to the residential program, responding to the anonymity often associated with high-rise living. In this way, Twist Tower combines urban density with residential quality and contributes to the continued development of Het Eilandje as a contemporary district of Antwerp.
